Right around when I first graduated from college, I began working at SoundExchange. If you are a music artist in any capacity I cannot stress how important it is to register with them. SoundExchange handles royalty distribution for electronic media, and covers everything from SiriusXM satellite radio, to services such as Pandora. It’s similar to ASCAP/BMI, except there are no fees involved, and the organization operates as a non-profit. I promise, it’s legit, and there are no catches. Get registered.
